- What is CDBF?
CDBF is a powerful DBF viewer and editor. CDBF is a multi-platform program. This small and handy utility offers everything you need for working with database files.
- What's new in the current version?

- Which operating systems are supported?
There are 4 versions of CDBF. CDBF runs on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP, DOS (Protected mode), Linux.
- Can I send suggestions for new functions?
Yes, of course! If possible, send your suggestions clearly separated and numbered, and as short as possible. Unfortunately our wish list is already very long, so we cannot guarantee if or when your wish will be implemented.
- Can we create a link to www.whitetown.com?
We would be very pleased - as long as your pages do not contain illegal content or offensive material. However, in most cases we cannot offer a link back to your site.

- What is the price of CDBF?
- Personal license $39.95
Allows you to use CDBF by one person only (at work or at home or both).
- Business license $99.00
Allows you to use CDBF by a small company on 2-10 computers.
- Site license $199.00
Allows you to use CDBF by one company on any number of computers located in one office (within one LAN).
- World-wide license $999.00
Allows you to use CDBF by one company on any number of computers anywhere.
- What's the price of an update from an older to the current version?
As soon as you are registered, (until further notice) all updates are free, provided that you get the latest version yourself by downloading it. This has been the case since version 1.0. Just install the new version over the old one.
- Can we resell CDBF to a customer of us?
Yes, it is possible. You can find additional information on this page .
- Which credit cards do you accept?
Our online resellers, Regsoft.com and Plimus.com, accepts VISA, MasterCard, Amex and Discover.
- Can we order by phone or fax?
Our online resellers, Regsoft.com and Plimus.com, can receive payment by phone and fax.
- Can we order by e-mail?
Please send your order by fax or post because it is legally binding contrary to e-mails. For your own security: never send your credit card number by e-mail! We are not even allowed to accept credit card orders by e-mail.

- Could you inform us by e-mail about new versions?
Yes, of course. You do not have to fear Spam: you can unsubscribe whenever you want. In addition we do not send any commercials and we do not give your e-mail address to anybody else.
- Could we upgrade CDBF from one license to another?
Yes, of course. Please, contact us and we will send your necessary information.
- Is it possible to register to an imaginary name?
As licence name we can only accept full names of individuals or companies / institutions. If we receive a strange or insufficient name, we reserve the right to decline or change it.

- How can I delete or change a button in the toolbar?
Click with the right mouse button on the toolbar and select 'Customize toolbar' from the popup menu.
- How can I minimize CDBF from keyboard?
Try Shift-Escape.
- What does mean a little needle?
This pin makes a window of the program as "Stay On Top".
- What does mean a red cross in the first column?
The red cross means that a record is marked as deleted.
You can set and remove red crosses with "Delete" key or mouse left button.
You can mark as deleted a few records and then remove all these records, using the command "Pack".
- What does mean a green dot in the first column?
The green dot means that a record is selected.
You can set and remove green dots with "Insert" key or mouse right button.
Then you can
- export selected records (Tools-Export)
- print selected records (File-Print)
- fill a field of selected records (Tools-Fill)
- mark as deleted etc. (Tools-Group-...)
- show only selected records (right click on the Label bar)
- sum selected records (Tools-Sum)
- I want to apply a filter by a DATE field of a table, but it doesn't works
The Date fields are stored in a dbf-file as YYYYMMDD.
Therefore you have to use conditions, similar to this:
FIELD1=19980201 or FIELD1=DTOS(02.01.1998) => Feb 1, 1998
FIELD1=199801 => Jan , 1998
FIELD1=1998 => 1998 year
- I cannot find out a built-in designer
